The new VITIS® sonic range combines the
distinctive characteristics of VITIS® manual toothbrushes, together
with innovative sonic technology, obtaining a superior quality brush.
VITIS® brushes have always been distinguished
by their diamond-shaped head with high quality Tynex® filaments. VITIS®
sonic retains these features in an access
size (small) head for easily reaching to the rear of the mouth. It is also available
in two filament strengths: medium, for normal brushing, and gingival,
with soft filaments for more gentle brushing.
The handle of both models is ergonomic and has
an anti-slip grip and a quadrant timer. Every 30 seconds, the brush
stops momentarily to indicate that it is necessary to move on to the next quadrant,
and after two minutes, it stops completely to indicate that the recommended
minimum brushing time (2 minutes, 30 seconds per quadrant) has been completed,
which helps improve users’brushing performance.
The main difference between the two models lies
in the brushing modes. The S10 model offers a brushing mode that has a
filament vibration of 31,000 strokes per minute. As for the model S20, there
are three modes of brushing available: normal, with 31,000 strokes
per minute, for effective brushing while caring for teeth and gums; precision,
where the filaments vibrate at 40,000 strokes per minute, obtaining greater accuracy
for deep-clean brushing, and massage, where vibration varies
between 31,000 and 40,000 strokes per minute, for better cleaning of the gingival
margin.
The S20 also has a light indicating the battery
level of the brush, while the S10 has a charging indicator light. The battery
is long-lasting and a single charge can last for several weeks.
The effectiveness of the VITIS®
sonic brush has been evaluated in a dentist-controlled efficacy test conducted
on people who normally use a manual brush.
At the end of the study, it was clear that gingival
inflammation had dropped by 58% after 10 days of use and by 69% after 21 days.
Regarding plaque index, a reduction of 20 percentage points was observed
after 10 days and of 24 percentage points after 21 days, meaning a reduction in
the plaque index of 39% compared to the initial situation for both the full mouth
and for the interproximal areas.
Furthermore, a study was carried out on 535 users over at least one
month, validating the suitability of VITIS® sonic brushes in terms
of design, usability and results after brushing, with the following outcomes:
In short, besides being considered an optimal brush by the users, the VITIS® sonic brush has been observed to enhance gingival health and improve plaque index in as little as 10 days.
