The interproximal area, or interdental space, is the area between teeth filled by gum tissue. These spaces provide conditions that allow oral biofilm (bacterial plaque) to develop and accumulate, as they’re hard to reach even with properly aligned teeth
Description
Interproximal spaces, also known as interdental spaces, are essential for oral health, and caring for them should be part of any daily oral hygiene routine. Notably, 78% of cavities originate between the teeth, yet 64% of people do not clean these spaces.
