News for dentistry professionals

Not all difficult patients are difficult for all professionals, which is why the dental professional-patient relationship is so important. Both the patient and the professional come into play and affect the outcome, whether that be the patient’s health or the expert’s personal or professional gratification.
The main instrument that we use on a daily basis, not only in our relationships with patients, but also with their companions and with our co-workers, is communication.
The subjective component of communication along with our emotions is what determines whether or not we have a good relationship with people. It is interesting to discover that changing attitudes can make for a smoother and less difficult relationship, even if we are dealing with people who are nervous or aggressive or who are afraid of undergoing certain procedures. Communication that is based on active listening and empathy can trigger friendly relationships based on appreciation and respect.
We will be highly satisfied if:
• we discover the interests and expectations of our patients
• we address their concerns
• we communicate with affection and interest
• we provide information voluntarily
• we express ourselves clearly .
