Six courses sharing the theme “Interaction between diabetes and periodontal disease” were held in several cities throughout Germany, addressing topics such as scientific evidence on how periodontitis treatment can improve glycaemic control, and vice versa, or the main oral hygiene and care recommendations that may be offered diabetic patients at the dental clinic to prevent the onset of periodontal disease. The roving course attracted over 300 attendees from all over Germany.
The city of Cali hosted the Aula DENTAID “Update on oral biofilm control and the relationship between oral and systemic diseases and risk factors” with more than 400 hygienists participating. Led by different experts, those attending learned of the importance of fostering oral health among pregnant patients, the new classification of periodontal diseases, and oral biofilm control of from the practitioner’s point of view, as well as several other subjects.
Castelfranco Veneto was the city chosen for the new Aula DENTAID course, attended by more than 100 hygienists and dentists. The session focused on the importance of patient motivation in eliminating oral biofilm through the use of specific tools and protocols, with the aim of achieving good patient treatment compliance.
220 periodontists and implant dentists gathered in Casablanca to analyse the different courses of action in the field of implant dentistry in terms of biology and biomechanics, from the periodontist's point of view.
The city of Lima was chosen as the setting for the course entitled “Interdisciplinary management of orofacial pain”. This Aula DENTAID session achieved a record number of attendees, with over 550 dentists who reviewed the keys to an interdisciplinary approach to orofacial pain.
The last Aula DENTAID session in 2019 was held in Gdansk and was entitled “Active cooperation of hygienists and dental assistants with periodontists and orthodontists,” with over 150 participants. The meeting highlighted the interdisciplinary approach to the patient in collaboration with periodontists and hygienists as their key collaborators.
Under the title “Controlling dental biofilm: from laboratory to clinic,” Aula DENTAID welcomed over 80 attendees to the event held in the village of Atouguia da Baleia. During the session, participants addressed periodontal and peri-implant disease, control of oral microbiota, and interproximal hygiene and oral health.
