The key to sustainable transport is intermodality, which combines the use of train and truck, allowing significant CO2 savings without impacting the company’s costs or delivery times. This innovative strategy is carried out in collaboration with DSV, a leader in efficient transport.

Sustainable intermodal transport combines road and rail, with the majority of the journey completed by train. A truck handles the first and last legs of the journey, while the main part is completed by train.

More than 120 trucks travel a specific route annually, generating 198 tons of CO2. By adopting a combined truck + train + truck approach, we managed to reduce emissions to just 76 tons of CO2 per year. This initiative allows us to reduce CO2 emissions by 62%, which is equivalent to a reduction of 122 tons of CO2 annually.
This achievement aligns with our commitment to sustainability and environmental protection.

To significantly reduce the environmental impact and optimise logistics distribution, Dentaid has established distribution centres in both Chile and the Benelux region, thus eliminating the need to ship all products via Spain and considerably shortening distribution distances.
