Having a clear idea of the following recommendations helps reduce cases of dental hypersensitivity.
To prevent dental hypersensitivity, including good hygiene and oral health habits, it is important to take these points into account:
* Avoid foods and drinks with a high acidic content: citrus fruits, fresh tomatoes and/or carbonated drinks.
* If you consume acidic foods, do not brush your teeth immediately afterwards.
* Avoid sudden changes in temperature in meals (very cold foods or drinks along with very hot foods).
* Do not put things in your mouth that might cause wear on your teeth, such as pins, pens, etc.
In addition, it is essential you use specific products for dental hypersensitivity: toothbrush with soft filaments to avoid damaging the enamel or gums, non-abrasive gel or toothpaste with ingredients to combat dental hypersensitivity, and a mouthwash to complete your daily oral hygiene, keeping the active ingredients in your mouth for longer. Likewise, in order to avoid new oral maladies, it is important to carry out proper cleaning of the tongue and the interproximal spaces.
By following these guidelines and recommending them to patients, we will help reduce the incidence of dental hypersensitivity.
